Ceramic braces in Yerevan

Braces made of strong ceramic in a shade close to your teeth. For teenagers and adults who want straight teeth without drawing attention.

Prices

Ceramic braces are a modern, aesthetic way to correct the bite. They are bonded to the outer surface of the teeth like metal braces, but are made of strong ceramic in a shade matched to your enamel. The surface is anti-glare, so at conversation distance the system is hard to notice. A white-coated archwire can be used on request.

The system has three components: the ceramic brackets, the metal archwire that creates the pressure to move teeth, and the clips or ligatures that hold the wire. Springs, rings and elastics are added when indicated. At iOrtho in Yerevan we work with self-ligating ceramic systems, including Damon Clear.

Ceramic is hypoallergenic, does not stain from coffee, tea or wine and keeps its original look throughout treatment. Adaptation takes 5–7 days and speech changes minimally. For a pronounced malocclusion the doctor may suggest metal braces or a combination: ceramic on the front teeth, metal on the molars.

Benefits

  • High aesthetics

The ceramic shade is matched to your teeth and the anti-glare surface makes the brackets hard to spot.

  • Comfortable to wear

A light, compact design with a smooth streamlined surface that does not injure the soft tissues. Adaptation in 5–7 days.

  • Hypoallergenic

Ceramic causes none of the irritation or reactions that metal occasionally does.

  • Does not stain

Coffee, tea and wine do not change the colour of the ceramic — the braces look the same from the first day to the last.

  • As effective as metal

They handle most bite anomalies, moving teeth as precisely as classic braces.

Indications

  • High expectations for aesthetics and comfort during treatment
  • All types of malocclusion except the most severe
  • Crowding on the upper and lower jaw
  • Spacing and diastema — gaps between teeth
  • Teeth erupting outside the arch
  • Metal allergy or sensitive soft tissues

Treatment stages

  1. 1.

    Consultation and diagnostics

Examination, CT, 3D scan and photo protocol. The doctor determines the type and severity of the malocclusion and picks a ceramic model for your case and budget.

  2. 2.

    Preparing the mouth

Professional hygiene and treatment of caries and gums where needed.

  3. 3.

    Bonding

The enamel is conditioned, each bracket is bonded and light-cured, then the wire is placed. One jaw first, the second 1–2 months later.

  4. 4.

    Scheduled visits

Every 4–6 weeks — wires are swapped for stiffer ones and extra elements are activated.

  5. 5.

    Removal and retention

After 12–36 months the braces come off, the enamel is polished, a fixed retainer is bonded and night trays are made.

Care rules

  • Brush after meals

Brush after every meal, paying attention to the areas around the brackets and gums. Use interdental brushes or a water flosser.

  • Hard and sticky food

Do not bite nuts, seeds, crisps or crackers. Cut meat, hard fruit and vegetables. Limit gum, toffee and caramel.

  • Professional hygiene

Every 4–6 months — a hygienist cleaning to remove plaque and pigment in time.

  • The first days

Use orthodontic wax if the soft tissues get irritated. Wear a mouthguard for contact sports.

Questions and answers

Are ceramic braces visible in conversation?

At conversation distance hardly at all: the ceramic and white wire blend with the enamel. Up close someone may notice the translucent brackets, but they do not stand out.

Can ceramic braces fix crowding?

Yes, mild and moderate crowding — successfully. In complex cases the doctor may use ceramic with a metal slot or combine it with metal brackets.

Can caries develop under a ceramic bracket?

Only if you skip check-ups and hygiene. At scheduled visits the doctor spots caries at the white-spot stage and refers you for cleaning or treatment in time.

How do ceramic braces differ from metal?

Aesthetics and price. Ceramic is discreet and hypoallergenic but slightly less strong and in some cases adds 2–3 months to treatment. Metal is the most robust and affordable option for complex cases.
